*//thursday august 3
well well.
four more days to the istana performance.
i'll have to miss church, though, and unlike dawn (moth) i don't mind going to church, it's quite fun actually.
gah. no grandmother stories in this entry today.
just two cas!
which i'm very relieved they've passed, although, sadly to say, there's a chinese ca tomorrow.
so long!
and maui PRACTICE your queen's park melody or i'll hammer you, hur.
*//tuesday august 1
really, dawn, if you're getting tired of always having to wait for me while i play the piano for the singing people every sunday why don't you just go for lunch first!
which is something, might i add, that you never do.
so there. stop complaining!
anyway, today we finally dissected the heart for bio HANDS-ON.
and not watch our teacher do it through the visualiser.
it was quite amusing, really.
the group next to ours had their heart sitting right in the middle of the tray, right in the middle of the table and it's group members timidly hovering around the table within a two metre radius, and pulling their penafores up to their nose, occasionally screaming.
and they would scream and shriek somemore every time someone from another group holds their heart up or does anything to it.
heh heh.
and while they were at that, my group (which consists of beverly, dawn, yifen and i) were using the knives and scissors given and viciously dissecting our poor sheep's heart.
we not only dissected, we practically ripped it apart until our entire heart became small, shredded pieces of raw meat lookalike (even the white, thick fats were not spared) then beverly and dawn went around saying "raw beef meat! one small piece for five dollars."
and everyone who saw it went "wah lao you all so sadistic la!" hahaha.
i can just about imagine the ghost of the sheep floating above us going "baaa. tsk! baaa."
we actually kinda defeated the point of the whole dissecting thingy, because it was suppose to be educational and all, but when we cut it up into tiny pieces it takes a real whiz to tell which is the ventricle/aorta/atrium etc etc.
all in all it was quite fun, only that it was extremely bloody and our entire tray was covered in blood (although we already rinsed it many times), plus the fact that it STINKS.
we washed our hands sooo many times but the awful smell still continued to linger in our fingers.
really, we should do this more often, it beats having to squint our eyes at the small words on the screen or listening to clumps of words in the lab.
hur hur.
oh well, so long, have a good week!
*//saturday july 29
hmm i wonder what sort of strange people are reading my blog.
oh yes today was honours day, finally.
after all that practicing and rehearsing.
oh yes and gayle nerva was there too, we saw her at the reception area while we were swiping food.
if you don't know who gayle nerva is i suggest you retreat, go back and continue living under your rock.
after the the performance we had a break then we went back to the band room and practiced the istana pieces.
maui is really really freaking out over queen's park melody, and i feel like whacking her everytime she complains to me.
and sheesh, people think i favouritise maui.
you heard that, maui?
tsk i shall start abusing you and whacking you so that i look like i'm ill-treating you then everybody will be happy.
hur hur.
oh well, the istana concert is at the istana (duh) at 2 pm on the 6th of august, for anyone who is interested to go and watch.
according to sir, the president will be there, unless he falls sick or it rains, and the media and press are there once in a blue moon.
oh yes and we end at five pm because we're going to have a tour of the istana, and take photo with the president.
heh oh well, goodbye.
*//thursday july 27
when i said ah lian language i meant things like ishh and euu and ter and fer and things like that.
singlish like la and lor and hor are totally acceptable, i guess, considering we're singaporeans.
lor.
haha.
anyway, we had latin dance for PE today, and it was kinda fun!
at least it beats all the running around the track and push ups and sit ups and all.
i wonder how long we'll be having it for!
anyway having yee hui as my dancing partner is anything but a blessing.
hahaha.
when we did the turning thing she was suppose to cross under my arm and move in front of me, but instead, she doesn't move at all so i have to run to her and end up twisting her arm all the time.
hur hur.
and she was so disgusted with the idea of having to hold hands and putting hands on shoulders/above waist while dancing.
heh heh.
oh well. and this is only the supposedly basic steps, and we're going to do some sort of twist next week i think.
gosh it's going to be even worse, we couldn't even turn properly when the entire class can, hur.
ha dawn is prolly turning green with envy since she looks forward to her outside salsa classes so much and i suppose would enjoy dancing too, only her school probably doesn't have this sort of thing.
ugh darn it.
i just took this IQ test and it had the option "i don't know", which is just as good as clicking the wrong answer, contrary to what i thought.
so i clicked that for like most of the questions and guess what!
the results came out saying i was dumb.
well they didn't say dumb but they meant that.
anyway, then i took another one at IQtest.com or something (which NEITHER had the "i don't know" option nor a time limit) and i got 136!
boy, i'm practically a genius!
i'm so proud of myself, ha ha ha.
oh well, more later.
*//wednesday july 26
bahh i can't stand ah lian language!!
it should be against the law!
ha i should know better since we're recently playing a harmless prank on this guy who needs a little deflation of his ego.
it was originally yee hui's idea, but then it's bev and dawn who are going on with it.
i wonder where this is going to lead to.
and anyway the two of them have constructed a monster ah lian and expect ME to learn the ah lian language too.
ME!!
you might as well stick your foot down my throat (which maui would so gladly like to do, i know, since she always says that).
oh yes and i don't understand why some people blog like this "today veli boring lor... nothing to do... just come home, then bathe, then eat lunch, then sleep. dowan to blog alrdy, noting to blog oso..."
for goodness sake nothing to blog then don't blog la!
have you heard anyone blogging about not having anything to blog about?
it was a good waste of ten seconds reading that the person has nothing to blog about.
oh well, i would really like to blog about fiona's number one, sure-to-work tips about how to score perfect A1s for every exam, and if it doesn't work you can sue her.
(hmm i better ask her to start saving up.)
however, i don't want a whole country of students going to school with toilet bowls stuck on their heads and two holes drilled to see through, so i've decided not to blog about it, hur hur.
so long!
*//monday july 24
the esplanade concert yesterday night was wonderful!!
especially hl, xh, weiling and wimp.
they looked extremely nervous when they appeared on stage to sing their solo, but they sang soo sweetly and soo nicely!
and their high notes and everything were well hit and were sang so well it sent shivers down my spine.
well for a brief introduction, the four of them went for an audition to sang with the prestigious choir (hallelujah something-or-something) and all four of them got in!
blah i was suppose to go and audition too but i had band on that day, sheesh.
so they sang FOUR songs at the esplanade yesterday, one of which is a solo (or soli, since there are four of them).
and they were the only four teenagers!
other soloists and the whole choir were all adults.
oh yes one funny thing i noticed was that wimp was the ONLY male standing at the female soprano section with the rest of the females, and wearing white like the rest of the women instead of black like the men singing bass and tenor (only he was wearing pants, duh).
that came as no surprise though, since i expected him to be at the soprano section with the women because he can't sing low and can only sing high (quite well).
haha if this goes on he'll grow up continuing to have an un-broken voice and singing soprano with women for the rest of his life.
oh well there was quite a huge turnout from my church and that came as a surprise as the tickets were quite expensive (i think).
anyway, on a random note, some people are getting on my nerves!
and i just have GOT to rant it out if not i'll fa feng.
the thing is, they have such a biased opinion on a certain person so much so that they'll keep gossiping and talking about the person behind her back and they don't realise that actually, THEY themselves are equivalent (or even far, far worse) than the person herself.
just because they have a totally biased opinion on the person they don't notice that they themselves, or even the PEOPLE they're gossiping with have exactly similar character traits (or maybe are even worse, in this or some other aspects, considering they're stupid enough to even have gossiped).
sheesh, these people should seriously get a life, although i'm just continuing to pretend to not notice and wave it away when actually it's irritating me because THESE people are a million times worse themselves, and i'm not sorry to say it even though these people are my, well, good friends (in some way or other).
really, just because they happen to have a similar target (who is bad, evil, and terrible, ha ha ha) doesn't mean they can disregard the fact that the people they are gossiping to about this happens to be alike, or how about looking into the mirror too?
oh well, on another random note, i further made maui's life even worse by not only putting her in first clarinet for some songs for the istana performance, but even the important combined concert (with st. margaret's, conducted by professor john lynch) at the end of the year.
hee hee.
it's for your good, maui.
practice hard! :]
*//saturday july 22
well today's band prac was amusing, for me.
i kinda forced maui to play first clarinet with me (for some songs) and she was totally freaking out, hahahaha.
her face was all white (actually, it's always been white) and she was trembling and whispering "stress! trauma!!" every time sir called first clarinets (meaning just the two of us) to play.
ugh and i USED to like queen's park melody back in sec one, because a) i couldn't play much and it didn't matter because i was just a junior and b) it was the second clarinet score and i could play a bit.
BUT now that i'm all alone playing the first score (since maui isn't much help) it's so scary!
AND THE NOTES ARE SO HIGH.
the score looked hard and high enough at first glance already, and yet i studied it further i realised, to my HORROR, that most high parts was meant to be EVEN HIGHER, and us players were supposed to transpose it one freaking octave up!
god. i feel so evil for making poor maui play all this, and dragging her out of her comfort zone in the thirds, whereby everything was low and easier.
oh yes a really funny things happened after band.
i went with lay cheng and maui to the really popular shop at the side gate (which sells bubble tea, cheese fries, burgers, and all that) which hoards of IJ girls queue up at after school.
when it came to lay cheng's turn, the guy (or boy) who was serving it was somewhere at the back so she shouted "Uncle!! i want cheese fries!", to maui and my HORROR.
we started whacking her and going "uncle?! uncle!!! are you crazy?!"
haha and when the boy came back with the food lay cheng said sorry to him for calling him uncle, and he said "i'm only sixteen", to our astonishment!
ha ha ha ha!
oh yes and there's band like four times next week on mon, tues, fri and sat because of the honour's day rehearsal.
sigh and yes my weekends are even busier now, and i envy those people (like dawn, low, the normal one) who have absolutely nothing at all on fri, sat, and sun and spend all three days at home.
bleah dawn could even go genting on friday with her parents!
lucky toot.
if i did that there would be at least twenty people who would kill me the next time they see me.
anyway, i'm going to take grade eight piano again, to see if i can get at least a very high merit or even a distinction and thus decide if i want to continue diploma.
my exam date is the 22nd of august!!
which is EXACTLY one month from now.
aahhhh!! panic!!!
